March 2021, Week 1
week 2 >
I am that, I am
Last month we started our studies of the chakras with the 1st chakra, muladara, which seeks to hold on, create structure and make us feel grounded.
This month we will move onto the 2nd chakra, Swahisthana. It's purpose is to let go and create flow, to move through life with more fluidity. In addition, it is your source of pleasure - treating yourself to a little extra sleep, a long walk, a bath. The element is water.
It is housed in the lower belly, pelvis, hips and kidneys. Think of fluidity, desire, change. Also creativity, manifestation and honoring relationships. As we move up the chakras - we come from a firm foundation and a knowing of who we are so we can be more fluid in our lives - our thoughts, attitudes and actions.

When this chakra is out of balance we are:
Deficient:
Fearful
Indecisive
Excessive:
Restrictive
Rigid
Resentful
Angry
Blaming

When it is in balance we are:
Expansive
Trusting
Fluid
Living with grace and ease
We studied these chakras in the February cleanse and I asked a few questions which are worth repeating -
Is there an area of your life where you are holding back?
Are you holding too tight to an outcome?
Are you resentful of someone or something?
Remind yourself of what you wrote for the 1st chakra - I am “that” I am - now let’s build on this. IF you are “that” - what would you add for the 2nd chakra?
For example - my 1st chakra statement is - I am healthy, I am. From here I know I can live my best life. So if I am living from a solid foundation of I am healthy - then in relation to this chakra I will build on this and say I am trusting, I am.
Write your 1st and 2nd “I am” statements in your journal, on your bathroom mirror and/or in your phone. Let’s use the platform of these chakras to get honest in our lives right now and find our own personal balanced sweet spot!
