January 2021, Week 3
Today, I choose to face, "what is."
Our intention this month - Today I choose to face “what is” - is an opportunity to continue accepting life on life's terms, no matter what!!! Last week I said - We have been taught these past 10 months, or at least I have been taught these last 10 months - to be a member of the “no matter what club”!!! I think its worth repeating my prompt of filling in the blank - Today I choose to face "what is" and no matter what I will..........
To get up and meditate everyday
To try to replace fear wit faith
To move my body in some small way everyday
To feed myself well
To connect with someone
To follow the rules
What is your “no matter what”?????

I also want to take a moment to explain the sound playing during the meditation. It is called "I am Wishes fulfilled Meditation" by Wayne Dyer. The two words "I am" are the name of God. As Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explains, "I discovered while reading James Twyman’s book The Moses Code that the sounds you will be hearing in this CD were the result of some intense research to reproduce the exact sounds associated with the name of God found in the Old Testament, translated from the original Hebrew as I am that I am. "It turns out that specific numbers can be assigned to letters. And the tuning-fork sounds you'll be meditating to are the exact sounds ascribed to the letters that comprise the Divine name of God. This has been called the most powerful meditation tool in the history of the world. I encourage you to become open to the idea that these sounds, when accompanied by your own I am mantra, can and will provide you with the ability to live a wishes fulfilled life." I have been listening to this meditation on and off for years and it is powerful. He suggests before you sit to get clear on your "I am" statement - I am perfect health, I am content, I am trusting.....you can have more than one, but have a clear idea of your statement and repeat it as you listen to the sounds. This week I have helped prompt you during the meditation, make sure to have a listen!

Finally......take todays class - OMG thank you Cathy for suggesting!!!! All of the poses are done at the wall! As I said in class - some may think support from the wall or blocks is a "cop out" - not muscling through and figuring it out! Well that is certainly not the case and when you take the class you will see this is true! With the support of the wall we are able to go deeper into the poses and we are also able to form a mental note of the correct alignment and what matters and supports the poses and what is freer. This of course translate into life and again I stress - the only reason I teach yoga is for the mental, emotional and spiritual benefits it gives me. The whole point of the calm crew is to yes give you classes, but truly what I want to do is give you and I tools to live life off the mat authentically. Now translate the wall class to life.....wall class = support = deeper poses, more uncomfortable in the pose, vulnerable, better understanding of the positioning of the body and better understanding of how my unique body can hold a pose. Life = Calm crew = support = deeper living, more authentic, more uncomfortable, vulnerable, better understanding of yourself and how you want to live your life. It's truly amazing!!!! This is yoga!!! I teach to learn and I teach to remain accountable and authentic - from this place life is easier, lighter, more fun and full of HYGGE!!!!
