November Week 3
Keep A Light Heart
We are cruising through November, which made me a little anxious this week, yikes. We started the month intentionally lining up with the aryuvedic science of yoga and daylight savings. During this time we were guided to shift from habits of busy ness, possibly excess caffeine or meals during the longer, warmer days to prioritizing rest and slowing down with activities that are calming and soothing like restorative yoga and walks in nature. Seasonal rituals that give you us a chance to nurture ourselves on a deeper level.
Our intention for the month supported this shift - Keep a light heart.
We practiced with a light heart. We tried to unburden our whole selves.
Now we are entering into the holiday season of possibly busyness and excess. Have you done anything differently to restore yourself, to re connect with yourself if you were a little off? Well its crunch time. Listen to this weeks meditation, take this weeks yoga class, take a walk, sit quietly - whatever it takes for you to connect with your essence and keep a light heart. Set yourself up for an unburdened heart next week. As you move on your yoga mat, if you notice tension in your body, see if you can soften just a little.
As you sit in meditation or quietly walk - notice if you have any heaviness in the mind, allow the breath to create space around it. Set yourself up for a bright and open heart of ease, curiosity and joy as you gather with family and friends.
As my spiritual running buddy Deb says - be an air freshener, not an air polluter.
As I said in class this week and last - we don’t have to force anything to change.
Simply give yourself permission to feel a little lighter — inside and out.
Let the breath be gentle.
Let the face soften.
Let the heart shine."
“Let the heart be spacious.
Release what you don’t need to carry.
Allow the light inside you to grow —
gentle, warm, steady.”
“As you move through your day, notice moments where you can choose ease, space, and warmth.
Keep a light heart — unburdened, open, and bright.”
