November Week 2

Keep A Light Heart

Our intention - “Keep A Light Heart” was a perfect focus for the cleansing reset I led this week. How are you thinking about “light”? Is it unburdened or light and bright, shining out? I used this week for some svadiyaya (self study) time. Life is always a process of first identifying burdens and lightness, then working through the burdens to find the light. The holidays are approaching quickly and a practice of self study, grounding ourselves and committing to putting our own oxygen mask on first will serve us and those around us quite well!

Fall is not just a beautiful time of year, it’s a crucial window for cleansing and restoration. Just as trees shed their leaves and the earth turns inward, we too are invited to release what no longer serves us and prepare for the stillness and depth of winter while simultaneously setting ourselves up for healthy holidays on every level. These next couple of weeks is a time to shift from habits of busy ness, excess caffeine, meals on the go to prioritizing rest and slowing down. We need to add activities that are calming and soothing - restorative yoga, walks in nature. Seasonal rituals that give you us a chance to nurture ourselves on a deeper level.

It is 2 weeks until Thanksgiving, I am going to try my best to incorporate grounding and calming practices into my day to build up my resilience (and not to mention some healthy antibodies leading into the holiday gatherings). We get to have this intentional, spiritual life as a design for living to keep us healthy and whole, but also to reep the benefits of our work which for me with be a bright light of Joy for the holidays. How can you spend these next 2 weeks nurturing and grounding yourself?
