May 2026 Week 1

We Are What We Repeatedly Do

Welcome to May! What a busy and amazing week I have had leading the cleanse. It is my favorite 3 days every quarter since I am well fed without any effort on my part and I am immersed in my solution to life getting “lifey” - yoga, meditation, self care and journaling. Which leads me into one of my favorite intentions this month: We are what we repeatedly do. We know this right?
Here are a few thoughts:
We are becoming a certain kind of person and this plays out even in the little things that we do day in and day out.
Who we are is intricately tied to what we do, we can’t separate the two.
The choices we make are forming who we are.
Our actions and our choices are not disconnected from the person we are becoming.

Cocoa Chanel said, “Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.” And this is our starting point this month.

Lets start week 1 with self compassionate awareness of what are we doing now. How are we feeding ourselves? Moving our bodies? Interacting or not interacting with others? Attending to our spiritual health? Talking to ourselves?
As I always say, we are the lucky ones who are “awake” and open to looking inward at our samskaras (deep grooved patterns). We get to do a little self study in meditation, yoga or reading these writings weekly. What do our samskaras look like? Are they judgmental, negative, sludgy? Or are they invigorating, hopeful and joyful? Just take a quick inventory for yourself.

Next ask yourself what does it look like to be yourself? What are you doing? With who? How are you thinking?

From here we get to decide is my current life on track with who we say we are or are we off course right now?

Remember our intention - We are what we repeatedly do. Are you moving towards yourself or away?
This is the whole point of the calm crew and the goal from its inception - for me to live a life of integrity and hopefully you can too.
