March 2026 Week 2
This Life Is A Gift
I love how my writings and my thoughts are always synchronistic with what is going on in my life, even my day. As I said last week, our intention - This Life Is A Gift - I created at the beginning of the year and I did not intentionally line it up with my 60th birthday month, but here we are!
Now this morning I went to my notes for my dharma writing this week and what I had jotted down was the importance of our mornings: “Mornings make the mind, I’m a big believer in the power of “first things.” As an editor and storyteller, and as a Certified Ayurvedic Health Consultant, I’ve seen this truth hold up again and again: what you choose first each morning sets the tone for everything that follows. Done consistently, those “first things” don’t just change your day. They change your life.” This was a quote from the Editor in chief at Jay Shetty, Anna. I often speak of the importance of a daily sadhana, which is our personal commitment to some sort of daily grounding practice - and first thing in the morning is themes powerful. Thats old, repetitive news from me but now for the coincidence or “God -instance”. I am sitting here typing this at 6:45am in California, having been up since 4am sitting on a beautiful balcony of our Airbnb with the mountains and the sun finally rising to my left, the ocean to my right and a huge open door to the interior of the house and the fireplace lit to help with a slight early morning chill. I have had my warm lemon water and detox tea, read my spiritual readings, journaled and meditated - all before anyone woke up run the house. I could wake at 4am and be frustrated, crabby and tired or I can say I get to wake up early so I am ready for all my kids who arrived super late last night to celebrate my big birthday weekend!!!! I am going with plan B today and will fully embrace our intention - This Life Is A Gift!!!!
