March 2026 Week 1
This Life Is A Gift
March!!!!!! For those of you who are not lovers of winter, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and for those of you who embrace this season…sorry to say it is coming to an end. I for one absolutely love winter and this winter has been beyond amazing with 3 huge snowstorms to hunker down in and play full out in!! Snow shoeing, cross country skis and lots of soup and fire time. I am on a flight to CA for the rest of the month so I do feel like my “wintering” has come to an abrupt halt. Winter and these snow storms are heavy, dense as well as grounding and nourishing. In yogic tradition is is a time to digest well and protect your energy. It forces the pause and if you know me, you know I need a push to pause. This past storm actually paused me more than usual as the snow was too deep for my fun activities, however it did not keep me out of my cold ocean dips. Day light savings is coming Sunday, the light is near for sure. This is such a fun, auspicious week with the full moon and the lunar eclipse. Did you get to see it? I saw a moonrise but the sky was not dark enough for the full effect and the lunar eclipse at moonset was behind the clouds for its most epic time. Regardless, the energy is all around us just the same. This weeks meditation was a full moon/lunar eclipse guided time, I have added it below in this writing for you.
Now for this intention………This Life is a Gift!!!!!! So I was going to use this intention in February and then I decided to push it a month and I am really not sure why. The amazing thing is, it is lining up perfectly with the awareness, shedding and hopeful anticipation of the full moon/lunar eclipse and………my 60th birthday - wow!!! I was not thinking of this at all when I chose the intention, but I am so grateful it lines up in this way. Please take this weeks yoga class and listen to or read the meditation to line yourself up with the energy around you for transformation. With a milestone birthday I am certainly feeling even more introspective, looking back, looking at today and peaking forward. What a true gift this Calm Crew is to me and what a gift this life is, if I choose to look at it that way.
theFull Moon & Lunar Eclipse Meditation — A Yogic Journey of Release and Inner Light
Sit comfortably in a meditation posture.
Lengthen the spine gently, allowing the crown of the head to rise toward the sky.
Rest your hands on your knees, palms facing upward in receptivity.
Softly close your eyes.
Bring awareness to your breath.
Inhale slowly through the nose for a count of four…
pause briefly…
exhale for a count of six.
Let the exhale be longer than the inhale, inviting surrender.
Continue breathing this way.
Pratyahara — Turning Inward
Allow the senses to withdraw from the outer world.
Sounds come and go.
Thoughts come and go.
You are not the sounds.
You are not the thoughts.
Become the observer — the quiet witness within.
Sakshi Bhava.
Awareness watching awareness.
Connecting to Chandra — Lunar Energy
Visualize a radiant full moon above the crown of your head.
In yogic tradition, the moon represents cooling energy, intuition, and inner wisdom
Silvery light pours down through the crown chakra. Let It do the work:
Cooling the mind.
Soothing the nervous system.
Quieting restlessness.
The Eclipse — Shadow as Teacher
Now imagine the Earth’s shadow slowly crossing the moon.
Light fades.
Notice what arises within you as illumination softens.
In yoga, shadow is not an enemy.
Shadow reveals attachment — vasanas and old samskaras stored within the subtle body.
Ask inwardly:
What pattern is ready to leave me?
Without analysis, simply witness.
Let emotions arise like waves and dissolve naturally.
Remain steady as awareness itself.
Chakra Release
Bring awareness to the heart center — Anahata Chakra.
On each exhale, imagine releasing heaviness from the heart into the shadowed moon.
Old grief…
control…
fear…
self-judgment…
Offer it without resistance.
Silently repeat:
“I release with compassion.”
Now bring awareness to the throat — Vishuddha Chakra.
Release unspoken truths, withheld expression.
“I allow my truth to flow.”
Finally, bring awareness to the third eye — Ajna Chakra.
Let go of confusion and mental striving.
“I trust inner knowing.”
Return of Light — Inner Illumination
The shadow passes.
The moon shines again — brighter, purified.
Its light now reflects from within you.
See a luminous moon glowing in your heart space.
Your awareness and the moon are not separate.
Inner light… outer light… one light.
Rest here.
No effort.
No becoming.
Simply Being.
Sankalpa — Sacred Intention
From this state of stillness, plant a quiet intention.
Not a desire born from lack,
but a truth already awakening within you.
State it inwardly in present tense. - This Life Is A Gift
Pause and feel it as already real.
Let it settle into the subconscious like a seed nourished by moonlight.
Integration
Feel your breath again.
Feel your body grounded to the Earth.
Sun and moon, light and shadow, effort and surrender — balanced within you.
Closing
Bring palms together at the heart.
Bow gently toward your own inner teacher.
Take one deep inhale…
and a slow, complete exhale.
When ready, softly open your eyes.
Carry this lunar stillness into all your actions.
