March 2021, Week 5

I am that, I am

  Refuse to worry! In this world there will always be something enticing you to worry. That is the nature of a fallen, fractured planet: Things are not as they should be. So the temptation to be anxious is constantly with you, trying to worm its way into your mind. The best defense is continual communication with Me, richly seasoned with thanksgiving. Awareness of My Presence fills your mind with Light and Peace, leaving no room for fear. This awareness lifts you up above your circumstances, enabling you to see problems from My perspective. Live close to Me! Together we can keep the wolves of worry at bay. - this is from a book I read, Jesus Calling which of course means it is religious in nature, however remember yoga is not religious, but spiritual.  We can all use this passage to help us if we just simply know the ME and My in this writing is your version of a higher source - it doesn’t matter what it is as long as it is not you.

 

We have a bonus week 5 this month for our 2nd chakra!  Let’s review:

 

Last month we started our studies of the chakras with the 1st chakra, muladara, which seeks to hold on, create structure and make us feel grounded. 

 

This month we moved onto the 2nd chakra, Swahisthana.  It's purpose is to let go and create flow, to move through life with more fluidity.  In addition, it is our source of pleasure - treating ourselves to a little extra sleep, a long walk, a bath.  The element is water.

 

It is housed in the lower belly, pelvis, hips and kidneys.  Think of fluidity, desire, change.  Also creativity, manifestation and honoring relationships.  As we move up the chakras - we come from a firm foundation and a knowing of who we are so we can be more fluid in our lives - our thoughts, attitudes and actions. 

 

When this chakra is out of balance we are : fearful, indecisive, restrictive and rigid.  When it is in balance we are: Expansive, trusting and fluid.

 

Let’s repeat our personal intentions - 

The 1st chakra is -  rooting, grounding, secure and stable - I am ……..(me - perfectly healthy), I am

The 2nd chakra is -creative, flowing, letting go, trusting, fluid - I am……(me - trusting), I am

 

Has this helped you this month? How does the reading at the beginning of this writing land for you?  Do you worry a lot? Do the same stories play over and over in your head taking you out of the present moment?  If so can you use your 1st and 2nd chakra statements to bring you back?  We all have worries and concerns and these situations are often out of our control, so we need to gather together to continue to control our insides and our responses to life.  Today lets all come from a firm secure foundation and a place of trust, gratitude and hope.  The thoughts will keep coming, don’t resist the fears and concerns but see if you can own them, maybe even laugh at them and let them go.  We get to choose again and again and again!!!
