I am that, I am
“Yoga is such an invaluable tool in developing intuition, because each exercise or meditation allows us to run a little practice drill with our mind, body, and sprit.” Gurmukh
Just to review:
The Ajna chakra is associated with light and illumination. You carry wisdom within you, a “light,” that can brighten your path. When you tap into the Ajna chakra you have a greater awareness of the world around you, and your eyes are truly open.
How are you doing? Are you feeling clear headed and balanced or a bit close minded or lost? Or somewhere in between? I am reading a book, The Untethered Soul, and I referenced part of it in this weeks meditation. It talks about our mind as being a “roommate” -it says to step outside of yourself and see yourself and your roommate - your roommate has something to say about everything and it can ruin anything at a moments notice. It judges, makes up scary stories and focuses on the problems rather than the gifts. Most likely this roommate doesn’t stop chattering - try observing your next shower - is your mind, your roommate, talking non stop? The book says:”My life is a mess just because this thing that lives in here with me has to make a melodrama out of everything. Once you’ve seen this, and learn to no longer identify with your roommate, you’re ready to set yourself free.”
Do you identify with this? Do you have an over active fearful and negative mind sometimes? I know I certainly have periods of this mindful chaos!!!!! This is hysterical…the book said “If someone were to ask you what your new friend (referencing the roommate) is like, you’d say, “This is one seriously disturbed person.” Lol
This is too good, I have to continue -
“After seeing how often this person changed their mind, how conflicted they were on so many subjects, and how emotionally overreactive they tended to be, would you ever ask them for relationship or financial advice? As amazing at it seems, you do just that every moment of your life……You never hold it responsible for the trouble it causes. In fact, the next time it gives advice, you’re all ears. Is that rational?”
This is all tooooo good and spot on for me and my often very busy, very crazy mind that I go back to again and again to massage, obsess and decide! Now thank goodness for yoga, meditation, writing, swimming and spiritual running buddies to bring me back to the knowledge of Ajna and what that can do for me! Its always simple, yet not easy - all I/we need to do is find sometime and some personal practice to quiet that loud ego driven roommate and to listen to the quiet voice inside trying to guide us!!! I am so grateful to be traveling this spiritual journey with all of you!!!!
