April 2021, Week 3

I am that, I am

As we continue our studies of the 3rd chakra let’s turn our attention this week to the element of transformation that this chakra offers us.  Remember Muladara is also associated with our will, our will power.  Anodea Judith states in her teachings on the chakras: “It is through our will that we liberate ourselves from fixed patterns and create new behavior.  It is our will that steers us away from the path of least resistance, that unhealthy habit, or the unhealthy expectations of others.  It is through our will that we take actions that are difficult and challenging, moving toward something new.  As we take these actions, we begin to transform, but the first step is breaking old patterns.”  I would add to this, the step even before that first step: awareness - what are the patterns and behaviors?  Transformation is simple, but not easy!  Let’s follow these easy steps to transform:

1.Get grounded In your 1st chakra, repeat your “I am” intention to begin and write it down.

Now write down 3 behaviors you do not like about yourself.

2.Move into faith, trust and letting go in the 2nd chakra, repeat your “I am” intention” and write it down.

Now write a statement that allows you to let go through acceptance and forgiveness of these behaviors.  For example: I am grateful for the awareness of my tendency to compare my situation to others, I forgive myself for having these thoughts and feelings.

3,Finally, we move into action with the 3rd chakra, repeat your “I am” intention and write it down.

Next, re read what you wrote in steps 1 and 2.

Now write a statement that will help you shift the energy of your behavior you highlighted.  For example: thank you Karen for sharing, but today I rejoice in the success of others and I choose to be happy for others and myself!

Finally, pull up a meditation from this month with all of this in your mind and when you get to the Kappalabati breathing feel yourself burning away the old behaviors.  It is said the fire of the navel can be used to purify or burn away old patterns of behavior and this breathing technique ignites the fire.  In addition the breathe eliminates toxins in your physical body - so feel this cleansing and eliminating in your body, mind and spirit!

Keep practicing, thats all we can do!!!!
