I am that, I am
The 3rd chakra’s purpose, Muladara, is transformation, its your fire, desire, your will, your get up and go! Here we are powerful, but by this I am referring to your true power and this is the goal of yoga! Our true power is when we move with - ease and grace. This is the key to the practice - we do the work to find the steadiness and ease in our physical poses as well as our spiritual, mental and emotional lives on and off the mat!
Muladara is located in the solar plexus, navel and digestive system. It is where you find self esteem, personal identity, transformation and self will. It also governs digestion and metabolism and has to do with the ability to “digest” our lives. The element is fire - so unlike the downward energy of earth and water (chakras 1 and 2) - this chakra is dynamic and light, moving away from gravity, it begins the ascension up the chakras. It encourages and creates the power to overcome and break free of negative patterns that hold us back from our true intentions
When it is out of balance we are:
Deficient:
Feeling like a victim
Low self esteem
Have digestive issues
Excessive:
Perfectionism
Anger
Too much emphasis on power and status
When it is in balance we are
Proud
Reliable
Confident
Energized and “fired up”

We are moving up the spine physically and emotionally we are moving deeper into a connection with ourselves, Give yourself the gift of awareness by listening to the meditations, doing the yoga classes and answering these simple prompts. My hope is that this work will serve you as much as it is serving me!

A few questions to consider……
Are there areas in your life in which you feel powerless?
On a scale of 1 to 5 - how are you doing with letting go in these areas? 5 being a strong faith foundation and ability to let go. Here think of your solid foundation of chakra 1, being fluid in the 2nd chakra and now the 3rd chakra added on. How are you doing in this scale?

Are there any areas in your life that you need a little “fire” to get up and go? To take action?
Remind yourself of what you wrote for the 1st and 2nd chakra’s - I am “that” I am - now let’s build on this. IF you are “that” - what would you add for the 3rd chakra?
I told you my 1st chakra statement is - I am healthy, I am.
My 2nd chakra - I am trusting, I am.
My 3rd chakra - I am showing up fully for my life, I am.
Write your “I am” statements for all 3 chakras in your journal, on a sticky note, in your phone and anywhere else you want!!!!
